1 race, 4 Tramps, 8 tires, 40 miles, ∞ black flies = BFC 2022.

In honor of the 2023 race, set to start any moment now, we’re reminiscing on last year’s picture-perfect event and wishing luck to all 4 of our own Tramp racers tackling the challenge today.

The Black Fly Challenge is a race unlike any other and we Adirondack'rs love a challenge. Combine rugged recreation, small-town support, big-time athleticism, and post-race revelry and you've got yourself a classic.

Like the topographical lines that define the region, the race winds it’s way through the hamlets, trailheads, forests, ponds, and bridges speckled amongst the route from Inlet to Indian Lake, deep in the heart of the Adirondacks. And as any ADK resident or visitor knows, there are more challenges than meet the eye in this spectacular, yet unforgiving landscape. And by that we mean, unsurprisingly, the namesake black flies, the elevation gain, the competition.

Only moments left until this year's tires hit the track and we've got 2 rookies looking to try their hand at the course, in addition to our 2 veterans.

Will you be there today?
